This Policy brief discusses the adequacy of Brazil’s social protection programs and services in meeting the needs of children and adolescents (C&A). In assessing if a program or service is “child-sensitive” the methodology and analytical framework seek to identify whether the initiative:
Places emphasis on and/or prioritizes children, pregnant and/or breastfeeding women in their beneficiary selection process.
Provides variable benefits based on the number of family members (or based on the number of C&A in each family).
Is structured to improve the accessibility of education, health, and nutrition services for C&A.
